100 to Watch: Lou Correa State Assemblymember, Calfornia
Background: Small businessman.
Why I got into public service: To make a difference. To advance and keep the American dream alive for my children and all children.
Top Issue: Education was, personally, my key to unlocking the economic opportunities America has to offer. Education should continue to remain the top priority of government. An educated workforce is a competitive workforce. Supporting our top educational institutions of research should also be a top priority, as they will pave the way for the next Silicon Valley.
Guiding Value: To apply a balanced approach to all issues. To fully discuss and study all sides of an issue and base sound public policy upon such. Always keep in mind that politics is about buildingbuilding bridges and building consensus. To build takes teamwork.
First Job: Newspaper delivery boy.
