100 to Watch: Douglas Jennings, Jr. House Democratic Leader, South Carolina
Background: Lawyer and former prosecutor.
Why I got into public service: An old-fashioned notion that one person can make a difference, and a sincere desire to give back to my community and state.
Top Issue: Rural economic development-- bringing jobs to the truly depressed areas.
Guiding Value: My faith. I truly believe what the Bible tells us: that to whom much is given, much is expected.
#1 Rule of Politics: Don't do anything you'd be ashamed to tell your mother about! This personal code of ethics is a good one for all of us.
