About the 2003 National Conversation:

Almost exactly three years ago, George W. Bush went to Philadelphia and promised to be a different kind of Republican and to usher in a new responsibility era. At the 2003 DLC National Conversation, New Democrats gathered at the scene of the crime to highlight the promises Bush has broken, demonstrate how he can be beaten, and show our party and our country what we're fighting for with a new agenda for America. The event highlighted new governors, new ideas, and how Bush has broken his promise to bring a new tone to Washington and a new face to the Republican Party.

Driving those themes home, the DLC released a new issue of Blueprint Magazine featuring a detailed critique of Bush's record, a New Democrats' Declaration, and a new political strategy memo by DLC founder and CEO Al From and DLC president Bruce Reed.
