DLC | Internship Opportunities | August 15, 2008
Fundraising & Events Internships
The Development department administers an active program of meetings and events for its donors, with scholars, administration officials, legislators and top policymakers. This programming offers development interns a chance to learn not only about the mechanics of fund-raising in Washington, but also to listen to policy discussions with the people who make it.
Interns working with Development will:
- Generate membership notices, invoices, invitations, and follow-up correspondence
- Assist with preparation, staffing needs, and follow-up for major DLC events
- Call through membership lists for attendance totals
- File correspondence and relevant membership papers
- Assist in all planning and follow-up aspects for membership meetings and briefings
- Assist in recruitment of new DLC members through list generation, phone calls, compiling of prospects folders and event planning
To apply for an internship, please fill out our internship application form and e-mail your cover letter and resume to internships@dlc.org.
Deadlines for applications are rolling except for summer. Please submit summer applications by March 1st. Applicants must be 18 years or older to participate in the DLC internship program. While all internships are unpaid, the DLC offers its interns a $40/month public transportation subsidy.
No phone calls please. Due to the number of applications, only candidates selected for interviews will be contacted.
